About Roland Digital Media
Our story goes back to 1983 when Dave Roland asked to do something creative with his life. Not long after, he was asked to make a sign for a local business – and a fledgling commercial and creative sign company in Cookeville, TN was born.Fast forward thirty years later and Roland Advertising and Digital Media now leads the outdoor advertising market in the Upper Cumberland. With over two hundred traditional, trivision, and digital billboard faces in sixteen counties, we exist to make your brand as visible as possible to as many people as possible.
As the world changes to accommodate technology and respond to a new generation of people, we realize that outdoor signage needs to be a part of a comprehensive marketing strategy.  | Dave Roland Founder Dave Roland wasn’t always in the advertising business, but he showed signs of entrepreneurship and creativity from an early age. From the first lawn he mowed for 50 cents at age nine to his first career move as a manufacturing engineer at Fleetguard after he graduated from Tennessee Tech, he’s been on the move in the business world. He has been in the sign business since 1984. Dave considers his business a calling and his favorite part about everything he does is the people involved; both his team at Roland as well as his clients. He also enjoys the creative aspects of the work and can be found actively participating in a billboard design or editing copy for a website. He’s out in the field for every new sign that goes up, operating cranes and making sure everyone stays safe. Aside from the advertising business, Dave has a passion for classic cars and vintage advertising. You can also find him doing Crossfit and exploring out-of-the-way places with good eats. |
 | Shane Hutton Creative Director With a graphic design degree and fifteen years of design experience under his belt, Shane has been a valuable part of the Roland team since 2010 and he has an uncanny knack for turning ideas into reality quickly and quietly. Shane enjoys Roland for the creative environment, the people he works with, and the fact that there’s always something new going on. In his free time he spends time with his wife and two girls and also plays the drums. |
 | Todd Pile Executive Account Manager With a larger than life personality, Todd’s energy and sense of humor ensure there’s never a boring day at the office. He wears many hats and interacts with current and potential customers on several different levels. Todd enjoys working at Roland because as he says, “just when I think I know how the day is going to go, everything changes but always ends on a good note” With a degree in graphic design from MTSU, experience owning his own business, and licensing for electrical work and large machinery operation, Todd is a well-rounded individual. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife Tanya and their kids Traci, Terra Lynn, and Titus. |
 | David Rich Shop Manager David grew up in Cookeville, graduated from CHS and received his degree at TN Technology Center in drafting and electrical. He spent his last ten years as a crew leader and construction / maintenance technician in the outdoor industry. He and his wife Amy have two children: daughter Kaitlyn and son Xander. |
 | Kim Barnes Office Manager Kim is a bright addition to our team and brings 30+ years of customer service and administrative experience in government, retail, and non-profit sectors. She keeps us running smoothly with a smile. Originally from Miami, Kim has lived in the Upper Cumberland for over a decade. In her time away from Roland she is active as the administrator for the Bible School at Living Hope Church and also enjoys working in her yard, traveling, and eating good food. |
